Where to Stay

The town of Spruce Creek is an ideal place for an extended fishing vacation. In addition to excellent fishing on Spruce Creek and the Little Juniata River, Penn's Creek, Spring Creek, and Fishing Creek--all less than an hour away--provide other excellent opportunities for you to experience the best of Pennsylvania fly fishing. If Smallmouth Bass or other large game fish such as Stripers happen to be your fish of choice, you might try the Juniata River or Raystown Lake, both of which are excellent fisheries and only a 45 minute drive from our shop.

If you tire of fishing, you might want to take in a show or game at Penn State, explore beautiful local caverns, bike on some of the area's scenic "rail-to-trails" bike paths, or hike along the Mid-State Trail, which runs along the ridge above Spruce Creek. In any case, you're sure to find enough in this beautiful area of the country to keep you busy.

We are fortunate here in Spruce Creek to be the home of several Bed and Breakfasts that enjoy catering to fly anglers. There are also several reasonable hotels in Huntingdon and State College.  If you decide to visit us, we recommend the following accommodations:
